The orchestra began in 2006 under the direction of conductor Garth Williams and has gathered musicians from within our community, including all ages between 10 - 90 years.  It has been a great inter-generational community group which enjoys playing with each other and playing for the Cowichan area.  We are grateful for all the time and energy that Garth has poured into developing the orchestra over the years.  He has adapted and arranged numerous pieces for us and also contributed original compositions for us to play.
We enjoy playing a variety of music including baroque and classic as well as Celtic style pieces plus some favorite movie music which appeals to all ages.  Our aim is to make live orchestral music more accessible to the community.  We have performed at local Island Health facilities including the Cowichan District Hospital, Cairnsmore Place, Cerrwyden Care Center and the Lodge on 4th.  In addition to our annual Spring and Christmas concerts we have played on the outdoor stage at the Downtown Duncan Farmer's Market, the Deck The Hall Christmas Craft Market and the Cobble Hill Variety Show.

Our orchestra welcomes new members in 2017-18, our 11th season!  Please contact us, or come to a rehearsal and check us out!
